Privacy Policy

Effective July 22, 2026

Our core promise

Anno does not sell your personal information or share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing. We use your information to operate Anno and may allow carefully selected service providers to process it only for that purpose.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Anno ("Anno," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use annopb.com and related Anno services, features, communications, and applications (collectively, the "Service").

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account and profile information: name, email address, profile image, city, state, ZIP or postal code, jersey number, team affiliation, and other profile details.
  • Gear and marketplace information: locker items, product selections, photos, condition, serial numbers, asking and sold prices, Exchange listings, offers, questions, and transaction status.
  • Community content: direct messages, team messages, event participation, free-agent posts, feedback, reports, and other content you submit.
  • Preferences and alerts: saved products, keywords, colors, price ceilings, event preferences, notification settings, and affiliate-link preferences.
  • Connected-service information: information needed to connect or use services such as eBay. Anno does not collect payment card details for Exchange transactions.
  • Identity verification information: if you choose to become Anno Verified, Veriff collects your government-issued identification images and a live selfie and processes facial biometric information to check document authenticity, liveness, and whether the selfie matches the document. Anno receives and stores the verification session identifier, result, status dates, and limited identity attributes needed to operate the badge. Anno does not retrieve or store copies of your ID or selfie.

Information collected automatically

We may collect IP address, browser and device information, approximate location derived from an IP address, session and authentication information, pages and features used, referring URLs, timestamps, diagnostic data, and cookies or similar technologies needed for security, preferences, analytics, and operation of the Service. Our Cookie Policy explains the technologies currently used and how to control analytics.

Location information

We collect location information you choose to provide, such as city, state, ZIP code, event location, or field location. We may derive coordinates from that information to provide radius searches, maps, nearby fields, and relevant event recommendations. We do not require continuous background device location for the web Service.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, personalize, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Create and secure accounts, authenticate users, and prevent abuse or fraud.
  • Operate gear lockers, market guidance, Exchange listings, messaging, teams, events, fields, alerts, and related features.
  • Recommend nearby or relevant events, fields, gear, and community activity.
  • Send transactional messages, security notices, gear alerts, invitations, and communications you request.
  • Moderate content, enforce our Terms of Use, investigate reports, and protect users and the Service.
  • Analyze performance and usage in order to develop new features and improve existing ones.
  • Comply with law and respond to valid legal requests.

4. How we disclose information

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their independent advertising or marketing. We may disclose information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: vendors that perform services for Anno, such as authentication, cloud hosting, storage, email delivery, mapping, security, analytics, and technical support. They may process information only to provide those services to us and subject to appropriate restrictions.
  • Identity verification provider: Veriff processes identification documents, selfies, and biometric information on Anno's behalf when you request verification. Veriff's notices and privacy terms are also presented as part of its hosted verification flow.
  • At your direction: when you make profile, locker, listing, event, or team information public; communicate with another user; connect an external account; or ask us to send information to another service.
  • Legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or enforceable government requests; enforce our agreements; detect or prevent fraud or security issues; or protect the rights, property, and safety of Anno, our users, or others.
  • Business changes: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice where required.

5. Aggregated and de-identified data

We may combine or de-identify information so it no longer reasonably identifies an individual. This may include aggregated city, regional, or distance-based location trends. We may use or disclose this data to personalize event and field recommendations, understand paintball participation, improve the Service, and help evaluate where events or features may be useful. We do not intend aggregated or de-identified data to identify you, and we will not attempt to re-identify it except to test our privacy protections.

6. Public features and other users

Information you mark public may be visible to anyone, including people without an Anno account. Public profiles, locker items, Exchange listings, free-agent posts, event attendance choices, and messages posted in shared spaces may be copied or shared by others. Private locker items are not displayed publicly, but authorized Anno personnel and service providers may process them as needed to operate the Service.

7. Third-party services and links

Anno uses or links to services operated by others, including Google Analytics, Firebase authentication, Mapbox, Google Maps, Stripe, Veriff, eBay, email, marketplace, social, and retail services. Their privacy practices apply when you interact with them. Google Analytics is configured for basic product analytics with advertising storage, advertising personalization, and Google Signals disabled. Some outbound retailer links may be affiliate links, which may allow Anno to receive a commission without changing your price.

8. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain legitimate business and security records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by the type of information. Public content or transaction history may remain after account closure where needed for other users' records, fraud prevention, gear provenance, or legal compliance, but we may remove or de-identify account information when appropriate.

Anno's verification result normally remains active for one year. Anno retains the provider session identifier and decision history as needed for fraud prevention, disputes, and badge administration. Identification images and biometric information remain with Veriff and are subject to the retention and deletion settings and terms disclosed for the verification flow. You may request deletion by contacting us; we will direct Veriff to delete provider-held verification data when required and when no legal exception applies.

9. Your choices and rights

You may update many profile, locker, alert, and communication settings in the Service. You may opt out of non-essential email using the controls provided, although we may still send account, security, and transactional messages. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or information about our handling of personal data.

You can permanently delete your account from Profile > Safety & support in the app or on the web, or use our public account deletion page. Deletion removes your sign-in account, profile and contact details, precise profile location, payment links, devices, notification settings, verification metadata, active listings, uploaded images, private locker details, and authored community content from the active Service.

To protect other users and maintain accurate records, Anno may retain de-identified transaction, gear ownership, moderation, fraud-prevention, and legal records. Messages or shared records involving another user may remain with their content removed and your identity replaced with “Deleted player.” A one-way identifier hash is retained solely to prevent a deleted sign-in identity from silently recreating the account. Deleted information may remain temporarily in encrypted backups until those backups rotate and will not be restored to the active Service except as part of disaster recovery.

To make a privacy request, use the Anno Support form. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized account access.

11. Children

Anno is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create an account or use the Service. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Users under the age of legal majority where they live may use Anno only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian. Minors may not enter Exchange transactions without that adult's involvement.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service changes. We will post the updated version and revise the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate or legally required.
